Changed our account services with Comcast to upgrade our internet speed and downgrade our TV services to almost the bare minimum. And was pleasantly surprised to find that the overall experience was fairly easy. A little bit of a strain choosing among all the service options they offer, but once decided the process was very smooth. They sent us a faster modem and I did the self-install, and the activation was automated on their end so no pain for us at all. They provided the UPS sticker to send the old modem back. Once I dropped that off I was done. Twice the internet speed, no useless TV channels, easy to make changes, and less than half the price. I kept hearing it was going to be a real pain. Once again we see that a local (municipal) monopoly running so smoothly kind of gives the lie to the trope that ONLY capitalism and free markets can provide for effective economies.
