Emergency Warning Issued For: Grampians Junction, Halls Gap Fire Origin: 18KM SOUTH WEST OF DADSWELLS BRIDGE Incident Name: GRAMPIANS - NORTHERN GRAMPIANS Issued: 18/01/14 3:41 AM This is an Emergency Warning issued by Department of Environment and Primary Industries for Grampians Junction, Halls Gap. The fire in the Northern end of the Grampians National Park is now approximately 43,000ha in size. The fire is west of Halls Gap in the Mount Difficult Range. Changing weather conditions mean there is still a threat to Halls Gap. Spot fires and ember attack are possible into Halls Gap. You are in danger, act now to protect yourself. It is too late to leave. The safest option is to take shelter indoors immediately. Your closest Neighbourhood Safer Place is at the surrounds of the Halls Gap Visitor Information Centre, on the corner of Grampians Road and Heath Street, Halls Gap. A relief centre is operating from the Stawell Leisure Centre. The next update is expected by 18/01/14 5:30 AM or as the situation changes.
