Channel 19 news Rockin on the River in Cuyahoga Falls set to end after 28 years Lydia Esparra, 19 Action News Digital Team Aug 1, 2014 10:28 PM When you sit outdoors for a concert on a summer day, the music moves you to places youve never been. Of course, it sounds so much sweeter when its free. However, its all coming to an end on August 29. Rockin on the River will play its last concert after 28 years of summer fun. Organizer Bob Early said the new mayor of Cuyahoga Falls wants to go in a new direction, which may not include music by the still waters. My wife and I own this business and even though we have done extremely well, we have been great citizen and role models, I think he [the mayor] wants to do things his way, said Early. Many concert-goers think the city is hitting a wrong note. He runs a class event down here, very family friendly, no problems, plenty of police and security, said one fan. I dont know why they cant do something here on Saturday and Sunday and leave Rockin on the River alone cause its just Friday nights, said another fan. We reached out to the mayor, but he was unavailable for comment. Like 19 Action News on Facebook for the latest news, weather, sports and giveaways. Copyright 2014 WOIO. All rights reserved.
