Chapter 3 We continued talking for a few moments I notice twice the bride telling her parents remember no bad words I thought it was funny telling her parents how to act in public. Then the wedding planner came in and started to line everyone up. She said the pastor and the groom will go first, then the mother and her older son, followed by the father. I interrupted her and said the groom was also escorting his mother she said ok and then stated to change the order,when the brides mother said there is not enough time to do that, the wedding planner then said it would not take any additional time. Then the brides mother said there was not enough room for three people to walk the Isle. I look at my wife confused at what was going on. The wedding planner said she would go check, the pastor seeing the concern on our faces said he would go also and left the room. Thats when the brides father started walking towards my wife, saying in a very unfriendly voice you cant come in here and change things at the last minute I said to him dont go there. he continued towards my wife still with a angry voice, I said again, louder, dont go there he continued still I thought he was going to get in my wifes face this time I steped in between my wife and him clenched my fist and very loadly said DONT GO THERE he stop looked at me like he was confused and didnt say another word. Thats when everyone noticed something was going on. Then my wife said in a calm voice, still not knowing what was going on,all I have asked is that my sons escort me she tried to explain the planning,they practiced it that way the night before. Thats when the brides mother went into a rage yelling at my wife saying the F bomb repeatedly telling her how dare you ask for anything and then started yelling this is ambers day and kept repeating it over and over. I look at my wife in disbelief still not saying anything to the out of control woman. Finally the bride pulled her back. My wife calmly said again all I want is for my sons to escort me. Again the brides mother out of control said what kind of mother would do this to her son on his wedding day still not knowing what my wife had done to make this woman be so hateful, selfish, rude and vulgar. About that time the wedding planner and the pastor came back in the room both saying that there was plenty of room for three to walk down, I thought finally this was over thats when the bride said quietly I dont want to do it that way. Finally we found out the bride did not want the groom to walk with his mother. My wife said again all I have asked for is that my sons walk with me, but to no avail, the brides mother started again, she was just being so hateful, finnaly our son step in I thought he would just tell her thats my mom your talking to, and say im walking with my mom, he stood there thinking, I said to him what do you want to do , the brides mother once more with her hateful voice said what kind of parent would make their child chose. Then our son said , I dont wamt to be in the middle of this, in disbelief I looked at the pastor to see the shock on his face not believing what had happen. Being out numbered 4 to 2, I cluched my wifes hand, my eyes misting when I saw the tears swelling in her eyes, knowing that there was nothing I could do that would stop the hurt she was filling. I said to her we would get some good wedding pictures with or son, not knowing we had been excluded from that also. Accepting what the bride and her family wanted we lined up to walk down the Isle only with one son on my wifes left arm the other arm empty.
