Chapter 57: Black Flames Domino slowly got up and started walking towards Danté who was still standing there, lifeless. The intensity of smoke from the forest fire making it hard for him to breathe and see. When he’d closed in enough he quickly etched 地 with his non-injured hand, ‘fool!’ A huge pillar emerged and shot out towards Danté, parting in two to the side on impact. Domino staggered back and fell to the floor. ‘H-huh? W-what?’ A smile that penetrated Domino appeared on Danté’s face as it was now looking directly at Domino. A hellish red glow could be seen from his eyes that were partially covered by his hair. He dashed towards domino without warning and punched him in the stomach; impaling him and making him double over in pain. Too much pain to even scream. Danté raised his hand and all the fire from the forest accumulated in a ball over him. Writhing in pain, Domino manage to open his eyes to see his fate. The ball of fire was slowly engulfed by black flames, with the smile still on Danté’s face he lowered his hand and the black flames engulfed Domino completely. His screams echoed throughout the forest and Danté passed out on the ground again. The Chief and the pilot were running through the forest. ‘Quick, I heard the scream this way. I hope he’s ok.’ They arrived to the battlefield moments later to see the end result of their battle. Her face was stunned by what she saw. Domino’s mummified body, still burning and covered in black flames. Those flames of which tracked back to another body on the floor. To her right she saw Danté on the floor, clothes torn and burnt. ‘You go to Danté’ she said as she walked over to the remains of Domino. ‘Black flames? That must mean-’ she turned and looked at Danté. She went into her utility bag and took out a capsule labelled 水. She raised her hand over Domino and crushed the capsule and water fell out like a waterfall over the flames. ‘No effect, just as I thought. Let’s go, we have to take Danté back to base. What you’ve seen here stays between us.’
