Character Conflict Part 2... Outer/External Conflict: Is always based on action and action in fiction is organized in 2 ways: (1) you can make your characters move through space or (2) time. Outside event that impacts main characters life and is sometime over which she has no control. When something or someone outside of central characters causes problem keeps them apart. It’s a series of events or obstacles outside themselves, which they’ve to overcome in order to achieve their happy-ever-after ending AKA plot. Is always resolved by visceral crisis action, no matter how small that action may be. Readers must be able to see the crisis in action.
