Characters in "Little Oops on the Prairie" - Aug 2 and 3. (We are full on the 5th.) Laura Line Insoles – A wonderful pianist and poor farmer’s daughter, Laura dreams of being a published author one day. In the meantime, she writes a blog for the Pioneer Press. Laura wears a prairie style dress and has a sunbonnet dangling around her neck. Her hair is windblown and she has freckles. Mary Insoles - Mary is sweet and accepting of her blindness, at least on the surface. Mary acts as her sister Laura’s conscience, reminding her of the right and proper thing to do. Mary wears blue to match her sightless blue eyes, and is dressed in a sweet, prim, prairie style dress with a proper hat or sunbonnet over her perfect, blond curls. Nellie Olafson – Nellie is a mean, condescending town girl whose wealthy father is the owner of the mercantile. Nellie is a flirt, and dresses in the latest pioneer fashions as seen in Mademoiselle Goudy’s magazine for pretentious women. Pa Insoles - Pa has three beautiful daughters, a lovely wife, Caroline, and a fiddle that he loves to play when he is not hunting, trapping, or working his fields. Pa is most often seen in work boots, britches held up by suspenders and a hat that has seen better days. Quick Draw McNutt - Quick Draw is the son of a hobo who came to town on the back of the train and pulled himself up by his bootstraps to the job of sheriff. Quick Draw wears a cowboy hat and boots and talks like a backwoods hick. Professor Jerald Jill - Jerald Jill is a sweet-talking, traveling harmonica salesman from River City, Iowa, who goes from town to town, wooing the ladies and selling instruments to the townspeople. Jerald Jill wears a flashy suit - seersucker? Big Brawny - BB is a burly football player who led Little High School on the Prairie’s high school football team, the Prairie Dogs, to the West of the Mississippi Territorial Championship four years in a row. Big Brawny has more brawn than brains, and is easily swayed by the sight of a pretty woman. Big Brawny is always seen in a plaid flannel shirt and wears the lumberjack look well.
