Charisma Magazine recently reported that a pastor of a mega-church in Charlotte is under investigation for some serious allegations. Apparently, someone filed an HR complaint against him, and he is on a leave of absence from the church and his radio broadcast was cancelled pending further investigation. My immediate response was This is a shame. Allegations are just that...this church has done this to other men of God in the past. Stop judging and start praying for your brother in Christ! I know first-hand that just because someone is accused of something does not automatically mean he/she did it. Now, of course, I believe that everything in darkness is eventually exposed to the light, and I believe and pray that truth and justice will prevail at all times. In the meantime, this man is going through enough right now, and all the gossip and slander makes the situation worse. The Bible says that we should confess our sins to one another, and if it is found that a sin was committed publicly, then it should be confessed publicly, and I pray there is repentance, if so. It also says, let he without sin cast the first stone and to not judge others - that is Gods job. Our job is to pray for this man of God and the church members who are undoubtedly affected by the ordeal and to stop speculating and let the truth be exposed for what it is. If there is a victim, we pray for his/her healing as well. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is founded on LOVE. Let us love one another, lift one another up, carry each others burdens, and not kick people when theyre down. God help us.
