DIRECTIONS TO VICARSTOWN Coordinates: N53°03.081 W007°04.957 FROM Dublin Red Cow Roundabout (Vicarstown is 75 km [47 ml] ): Take the Cork/Limerick road (N/M7)[Jct. 9 on M50]. 60 Km [37 ml] from the Red Cow Roundabout you will see the sign “Welcome to County Laois”. 6 km later you will come to the sign advising exit for R422 Mountmellick, Portarlington and Killinard being 1k ahead. TAKE THIS EXIT (JUNCTION 15). After leaving motorway you will immediately see sign for Vicarstown. At top of exit road you come to a roundabout, take left exit as signposted. 300 meters further is a second roundabout and again take left as signposted. There are no further turns before reaching Vicarstown. After travelling 7k on a narrow road, with no markings, you reach 50 km/h speed sign. 200 meters you pass Vicarstown Church on left. Be careful as main road goes left immediately. 400 meters you come to canal bridge. Cross the bridge, indicating to the right, preparing to stop at other side. Turn right immediately on to road beside the canal. House is first gate on left with Horse Pond on stone outside. FROM CORK/LIMERICK DIRECTION: After the exits for Portlaoise on the M7, you will come to the sign advising exit for R422 Mountmellick, Portarlington, Killinard. TAKE THIS EXIT (JUNCTION 15). Follow signs for Vicarstown. See above. FROM WEXFORD/KILKENNY/CARLOW DIRECTION: Leave the M9 at junction 3, then at roundabout take the 1st exit onto N78 (signposted Athy) Continue forward onto Dublin Road N78. 9 KL later at Roundabout take 1st exit entering Athy, Leinster St N78. At Traffic Lights Turn Right on to Stanhope St. R417(next directions from memory to be confirmed) Continue passing R.C. Church on right for about 6 miles through Kilberry until you see sign on right showing turn on left to Stradbally R427. Turn Left onto R427 here. This road will take you over The River Barrow into Vicarstown. As you pass Turleys Pub on right Turn Left before canal bridge. House is first gate on left with Horse Pond on stone outside.
