Charlene GUIGNARD / Marco FABBRI (ITA) claim Senior’s gold Veröffentlicht am 3. November 2013 Charlene GUIGNARD / Marco FABBRI claimed the Ice Dance gold. Alisa AGAFONOVA / Alper UCAR (TUR) took the silver medal. The bronze went to Kharis RALPH / Asher HILL of Canada. Allison REED / Vasili ROGOV (ISR) came in fourth and the NRW couple Shari KOCH / Christian NÜCHTERN placed sixth. Charlene GUIGNARD / Marco FABBRI’s romantic dance to “Romeo and Juliet” was highlighted by difficult lifts and smooth footwork. The Italian team got a level four for the twizzles, lifts (the curve lift was rated level three) and the spin while the step sequences garnered a level two. Overall they captured 144,28 points. “We were satisfied after the Short Dance. It went very well and it was fun to skate. We made a couple of small mistakes in the Free Dance, that’s why we lost some points. It could have been better, but we competed in Skate Canada last week and had another competition before. We didn’t have much time to rest. The Free Dance music is from “Romeo and Juliet”, we choose it, because we are a couple and want to bring the relationship on the ice. We like the music and thinks it’s a good choice for this season and for us,” Marco Fabri said. Alisa AGAFONOVA / Alper UCAR TUR earned a level four for their spin and four of their lifts. They scored 80,09 points dancing to “I feel good”by James Brown in the Free Dance and totaled 132,46 points, which is a personal best. Kharis RALPH / Asher HILL danced in a leopard costume to some samba music completing five level for elements. They earned 79,92 points to which added up to 130.27 points and they slipped to second place. “We have been very exciting before the Free Dance. It has been long two weeks , so it wasn’t the best Free Dance, but we are happy with tonight’s performance,” Kharis RALPH stated. “It has been tough two weeks with a lot of trouble with all the competitions, but we got a medal and are satisfied with the result. They people here at Dortmund have been super nice and very helpful. We stayed here for a week and they gave us plenty of ice time to train,” Asher HILL confirmed. “We heard that we are the first Canadian’s at the competition in Dortmund and we really want to come back,” Kharis RALPH added. Allison REED / Vasili ROGOV (ISR) danced to music of the film “Pirates of the Caribbean”, racked up 127,50 points and slipped to fourth place. “We are still satisfied with the result. There was a lot of improvement in comparison to the last competition, I think we earned about nine points more. We still made a couple of mistakes, but the season is young and we can work on it. We chose the music because the movies are awesome and we like it,” Allison Reed said. Shari KOCH / Christian NÜCHTERN danced to music of the movie „Batman“ and totaled 125,66. “We are pleased with our performance. We didn’t achieve the Olympic norm, but we still made good progress in comparison to the last competition,” Shari KOCH stated.
