Charles Augustus Thompson Lecture - Call for Papers Deadline Extended to September 1 The Kearns Center for Leadership and Diversity at the University of Rochester invites submissions from advanced Ph.D. students, post-doctoral fellows, and junior faculty to deliver a lecture in the Charles Augustus Thompson Lecture Series: Leadership and Diversity in Action. This series consists of two talks per semester by scholars who are contributing to current literature on diversity broadly stated, with particular reference to issues of race, ethnicity, gender, and identity. Accepted lecturers will deliver a lecture in Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, or Engineering, on a topic related to their work. In honor of Charles Augustus Thompson, the first African American to graduate from Rochester, this lecture series began in the spring of 2013 and has already gained a lot of attention in the Rochester community. All lectures take place on the campus of the University of Rochester and all expenses are covered by the Kearns Center. To be considered, please submit an abstract of the work to be presented (1-2 pages), and a CV to Douglas Flowe, Graduate Recruitment and Retention Specialist: [email protected] The deadline for submission has been extended to SEPTEMBER 1, 2013. The lectures themselves will take place in late October, early December and two in the spring semester. Exact dates will be decided with accepted lecturers.
