Charles Edward Halderman Son of Andrew J and Cynthae Ann Bennett-Halderman, and husband to Helen Elizabeth Grubb, married in 1908, he worked at varioue occupations, nightwatchman in a bank, machinest for the Pilliod factory in Swanton SPANISH - AMERICAN WAR VETERAN PASSED AWAY ON MONDAY , September 08, 1947 Military funeral services with Rev. P. M. Niswander officiating, were held Wendsnday afternoon at 2:00 from the Biehl and Malone Funeral Home for 65-year old C. E. Halderman who died at home at 112 Allen Drive, Monday morning following a lingering illness. Interment was made in Swanton Cemetery. The deceased was born in Indiana but had spent part of his life this vicinity. Up until the past few months, he was employed by the Pilliod Company for a period of 29 years and was member of the K.of P. and a past member of the Swanton Volunteer Fire Department. He was a Spanish-American War veteran and also a member of the V.F.W. Post No. 2898 of Toledo. Members of this post stood honor guard Tuesday evening and were present with firing squad and chaplain for the military funeral. Surviving are his widow, Helen, two daughters. Mrs. Darrell Clay and Mrs. I.J. Laskowski, both of Swanton nine sisters, Mrs. Bertha Wentz, Mrs. Hugh Scott, Mrs. Michael Grubb, Mrs. Lynn Coon, Mrs. Hazel Hepfinger, Mrs. Orrin Robinson, Mrs. Guy Warren, all of Swanton, Mrs. Gilbert Swartzlander, Liberty Center and Mrs. William Pasel, Toledo, two brothers, Clair of North Baltimore, Ohio and Sidney of Swanton His wife Helen Elizabeth Grubb Halderman Daughter of a civil war veteran Abraham Grubb, and sister to my grandmother and wife of Charles Edward Halderman, married 1908
