Charles writes........ BLESS GOD! Today, I want to encourage you to just look back over your life and give glory and praise unto God for delivering you from the mess and stress that you were in days ago, weeks ago, months ago, or years ago! The time frame doesnt matter. What does matter is that He (God) brought you out! Colossians 1:13 says it: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. This is not a thing to take lightly, seeing that only a short time ago, you and I were destined to hell! But God, by His infinite grace, had mercy on us! Sometimes, as years go by, we can develop a tendency to forget what we got delivered from and fail to show mercy, ourselves, to others, who are going through what you went through sometime ago. God is Merciful God unto all those who bless His name. Our main text, today, is found in Psalm 103, verses 1-5. As the Psalmist, David, reflects back on his tragedies, triumphs, failures, sicknesses, and personal sins, he could only say, BLESS THE LORD, O MY SOUL: AND ALL THAT IS WITHIN ME, BLESS HIS HOLY NAME! He counted all of the times that he had shown courage, on behalf of God, and, yet, he saw that his sins were many. David realized that God had every reason to withdraw Himself from him. But God didnt withdraw Himself because He knew that David had become godly sorry and repentant in his heart, concerning his commitment to God. How could David not BLESS GOD with all that was within him, when God had demonstrated such love and affection for him! Verse 2 says, Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. Most people, Christians included, relate benefits to material things, such as gold, silver, jewelry, money, homes, cars, boats, etc., expecting to get from God instead of realizing that GOD HAS GIVEN US spiritual benefits, such as is found in verse 3: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities. Jesus did not die on the cross for just one of your sins. He died for them ALL! You should be shouting right now, just to feel His presence and the magnitude of His mercy in your life everyday. Who healeth all thy diseases! Let me emphasize this point, right now. Even though sickness and diseases may come to afflict us, we are not authorized by God to receive them! Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies. BLESS GOD! You have been bought with a price--the precious blood of Jesus; and you have been crowned with His tender mercies. You ought to run around in your living room or den or wherever you are, right now, and BLESS GOD! Finally, verse 5 says, Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things. Has God been good to you? Has He been good so that thy youth is renewed like the eagles?!!! Be renewed, in the spirit of your mind (Ephesians 4:23). BLESS GOD, today! Thank Him! Give Him all that is within you! LOVE. Ruby
