Charlie here. Brooklyn is resting after the trip to the vet today. She still has a fever so we gave her another sub-Q water backpack along with more meds including an appetite stimulant since she hasnt eaten a single thing since Friday morning. Thankfully, the appetite stimulant worked as my baby finally ate some rice along with some gourmet wet dog food Ive been trying to entice her with:-) I am soooolhappy to see the pictures of Sadie with Troy and to read Melissas comments!! I honestly couldnt be happier how this all turned out, especially as it was looking rather bleak there for a bit. Having said all of that, someone somehow got my email address (its not posted anywhere) and sent me the following message: I do not use Facebook or Twitter but have followed the Sadie page - it is so distressing to see Sadie look as depressed in Utah as she did in the pound. Please consider another home for her other than the Troy Stevens person - you could tell immediately that a Sadie did not trust him... A concerned person, As I politely (I tried) told this person, massive efforts were expended to get Sadie to her forever home with Troy, the one and ONLY person who voiced his desire and ability to provide a permanent, loving home for her. In addition, Sadie is a traumatized dog who has been through a ton of stress recently, has evidenced (while with me) apprehension towards men (which resolved over time), and who is still on meds. To expect the first pictures, after that long drive, to evidence sheer joy and elation is unreasonable in my opinion. Plus, just looking at the recent pics and reading Melissas account, I know Sadie will live out a happy life with Troy. Lastly, I REALLY dont think its fair or appropriate for a person who didnt offer an alternative home and/or assist in any way to write me, after the fact, telling me she doesnt approve and thinks I should find another solution. Sadie is going to be amazing. For people like the one who wrote me, my suggestion is you either keep your suggestions to yourself, or you actively do something to help out and change the situation.
