Charlie is a young boy with spinal muscular atrophy. He cant play - TopicsExpress

Charlie is a young boy with spinal muscular atrophy. He cant play like most kids, and he needs someone to take care of him at all times – so making friends can be tough. For years, Charlies parents prayed that he would find a best friend. You helped answer their prayers when Charlie was matched with a special dog. Meadow brings so much comfort and love to Charlie, she truly is Charlies best friend. You used Trifexis® (spinosad + milbemycin oxime) to protect your dog from fleas, heartworm disease, hookworm, roundworm and whipworm. Elanco, the makers of Trifexis have partnered with Canine Assistants, a non-profit organization that provides service dogs for people with physical disabilities or other special needs. Help us celebrate the physical, social and emotional support that dogs provide to all of us. Visit our website to learn more about Canine Assistants and discover more stories about the special bonds people have with their pets. celebratethebond/?WT.mc_id=elanco-email-campaignawareness-celebratethebond_2014-launch&utm_campaign=celebratethebond_2014&utm_medium=email&utm_source=campaignawareness&utm_content=launch#v00 IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION Serious adverse reactions have been reported following concomitant extra-label use of ivermectin with spinosad, one of the components of Trifexis. Treatment with fewer than three monthly doses after the last exposure to mosquitoes may not provide complete heartworm prevention. Prior to administration of Trifexis, dogs should be tested for existing heartworm infection. Use with caution in dogs with pre-existing epilepsy. The most common adverse reactions reported are vomiting, depression, itching, and decreased appetite. To ensure heartworm prevention, observe your dog for one hour after administration. If vomiting occurs within one hour of administration, redose. Puppies less than 14 weeks of age may experience a higher rate of vomiting.
