Chattergam killings result of AFSPA: Shah =>After his release from jail, Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir (HCJK) leader and Freedom Party chairmanShabir Ahmad Shah Friday visited the families of Fasisal Ahmad Bhat and Mehraj-u-din of Nowgam, who were murdered by Indian Army last month at Chattergam. On the occasion, Shah who was accompanied by senior HCJK leaders Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Farooq Ahmad Dar (Bita Karatey), Muhammad Abdullah Taari, Muhammad Yasin Ataai, Molvi Bashir Ahmad and other activists, expressed solidarity and sympathy with the families. He said such killings are the result of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) which has been bestowed on Army. Condemning the Chattergam killings, Shah said, “Today, India is shedding crocodile tears over the Peshawar massacre while asin Jammu and Kashmir, it is committing the same heinous crimes by massacring the innocent youth. Why are they silent over the killings they carry out here? ”Commenting on Peshawar carnage, Shah said our hearts weep for the innocent children and we can very well understand the pain and grief of the bereaved families as “we too suffer the same by the hands of Indian forces from last 67 years.” “The way terrorists butchered the budding blossoms like children in Peshawar, Indian forces massacred our children in the same way in 2010. India should acknowledge that there is no difference between them and the perpetrators of Peshawar carnage. ”Shabir Ahmad Shah said it is exemplary that the families of Nowgam martyrs have rejected the ex-gratia from Army and we are in favour of their demand that culprits should be tried in civil court. He also expressed solidarity with the injured Zahid Ahmad and Shakir Ahmad and prayed for their speedy recovery. (CNS)
