Check Out the New MARGOLIS METHOD PERFORMANCE LAB BLOG! The 2013 Summer Session at the Margolis Method Center marks the 30th anniversary of classes. To commemorate this event, we have taken a particular focus this year on the collaborative development of original theatre projects, facilitated and directed by the Magolis Method Center faculty. These projects span throughout the 6-week session, with work-in-progress performances every 3 weeks to share research. The artists have formed two groups, one led by Jarod Hanson and Jonathan Beller, the other led by Ian Bivins and Gregory G. Schott. Individual artists that their own personal, long-term projects are also taking this opportunity to work on their pieces. The two groups have been given an overall prompt, or theme from which to springboard their inspiration and research: Fantasy vs. Reality. This blog will be used as a tool to discuss process and inspiration, with the goal of encouraging the discussion of creating work, and empowering artists by honing their ability to speak to the craft of theatre artist as actor, director, and playwright. margolismethodperformancelab.tumblr
