Check out this AMAZING picture coming out of southeast Colorado as the arctic blast of air charged across the dry landscape south of Colorado Springs! What you are seeing is a large dust cloud (technically called a Haboob) being generated by the arctic cold front as it moves south across Colorado. You can see what the dust cloud looks like from our visible satellite image and from an airplane flying over. The temperature in Colorado Springs was 70 degrees just before the front arrived around noon. Now the current temperature (as of 10pm EST) is 16 with a wind chill of 0. That is quite the change! Yes this is the same arctic front that will arrive here in about 24 hours. Luckily the coldest air will stay to our north and west... but Id still get the winter jackets ready!
