Check this out. Wow! Do you remember a little black puppy girl named Gidget from a few months back? She was one of Dustins beloved fosters. She came in to visit today... look how big she got! She was ecstatic to see her Uncle Dustin! She dropped onto the floor in front of him and just rolled around in happiness, and jumped up to lick his face. She almost couldnt control her excitement. It was so beautiful to see. She will always remember their special bond. Dustin is such an amazing volunteer and asset to our organization, we just dont know what wed do without him. He has such a big heart and the dogs love him so much - and so do we. Here are the photos of them together, then and now... This is an excellent opportunity to talk about our foster program. It is such a rewarding experience!! Many people think it is impossible to give a dog to a new home, that they would only set themselves up to be a foster failure and end up keeping the dog. But when you see a dog go to a wonderful home, that fear goes away. There is no regret, knowing that you saved an animal and they went to a loving family. In fact, I experienced that bittersweet feeling today x3. The two kittens (Henry and Alana) and dog (Chooch) that I was fostering all found forever homes today! Ive had them for weeks. I knew it was coming, and I thought I would cry seeing them all go, but it was quite the contrary! My mind is at peace because the families I set them off to are amazing, and I can see how loved they will be. The drive home from Petco was quiet, but I was smiling the whole way.
