Checking out skid plate sources in response to several queries. You can get them retail form Eddy Out Dep[ot or any OLdtown dealer but here is what Roger Allen of Fredericton had to say about that: R Allen said: Evan, If someone needs skid plates, here is what I found: (1) For royalex canoes, I was finding a range from $155- $175 for complete skid plate kits from dealers in NB. But I am getting a skid plate kit from Esquif for $86.35 tax incl and incl shipping. (2) You can buy a pair of kevlar skid plates from MEC for $20., but they dont sell the resin. You can buy Cold Cure epoxy resin from Lee Valley for $30-45 (depending on the size of the bottles you choose). It seems that on you tube, people are using a cold cure epoxy. And that is what MEC recommended for royalex. (3) Old Town, when I contacted them, tell me that they recommend a polyurethane resin for royalex, and that is what they sell to their dealers. Im getting the kit from Esquif (dont know yet which kind of resin they are using). I wouldnt have hesitated to use the cold cure epoxy from Lee Valley, and plates from MEC. I really enjoyed the Prospector -16 [Purchased form Gibson Creek] - it is very very maneuverable. rgr
