Cheers for the nomination, Tre Turner. Choosing top 5DJs influenced me most is almost impossible. So I just picked up 5DJs only who really smashed me up at the party in this few years. Everyone has top class skills Ive ever seen before as well as musically keep influencing me all the time. 1. Daniel Bell (Accelerate / 7th City) Might be not so familiar for many ppl in HK but he’s coming to play at oma next Wed! And one of my best favourite DJ in the world. Minimal sound makes maximum groove. Minimum luggage to go deepest journey. Why I say he’s the master? You will find at oma on next Wednesday!! 2. DJ Nobu (Future Terror / Bitta) I have to say there is no DJ like him in the world. Somebody said he’s Japan’s best kept secret but already getting many gigs in Europe recently. Not only as the first Japanese DJ has played at Berghain but he is the one loved and respected most in music scene in Japan. Mixing skill, soundscape, attitude for DJing and music, deepest techno ever and touching house music ever…Everything above cloud, another dimension. You will be shocked with his DJing. Let’s see I definitely want to invite him to HK next year!! 3. Rødhåd Unfortunately my feet didn’t move anymore after 17hours dancing but witnessing his closing set Berghain was something unbelievable. I’ve listened for 3hours but seems he played for 8hours until Monday morning! So many local Berliner said he’s the best now and I felt such his incredible mixing skills kept makes me sigh and high. Also sound was something more soulful than many other DJs play deep minimal techno. He got something very emotional behind the beats. Next time I wanna go for whole set with best condition. 4. Oskar Offermann (Rimini / White / Mule Musiq) His 5hours set last month at oma was personally the best act of this year so far. I love his production as well but such his deep / chicago / acid / latest minimal / 90’s old school house music selection and, how he mixes 2tunes and build up the set, concentration for long set, didn’t allow me to stop dancing. I wouldn’t hesitate to say it was something like I wish I could make one day. Enough reason to ask him to visit us regularly. 5. Prins Thomas (Full Pupp / Internajonal) When I had chance to share decks with him in Japan, I was totally surprised that he kept mixing many different taste of music like alternative disco which also sounds likely to his production, deep house, obscure Scandinavian disco with amazingly smooth with Pioneer mixer. What’s incredible, me and some other frds felt like he’s mixing with rotary mixer! It means his eq touch and volume control was something different. And it was absolutely original artform created by DJing. ***Never seen in real at the party but also have to mention Ricardo Villalobos & Zip as well.
