Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will be looking for a reaction from his team when the Blues travel to Manchester City this Monday. Chelsea were unfortunate not to win against a dogged West Ham last night, as the Hammers dug in for a point to take back to Upton Park. Mourinho slammed the way West Ham played but focus now needs to turn to how his team can dismantle the highest scorers in the Premier League this season. Here’s the side he could go with. GK – Petr Cech The Czech will continue in goal. He’s a very experienced player and will offer a lot of leadership to the back four, which is important. RB – Branislav Ivanovic Ivanovic has been Chelsea’s primary right-back this season. He’ll be under a lot of pressure in this game but he shouldn’t be exposed too frequently out on his side of the pitch. CB – Gary Cahill Cahill has the pace, the physical presence and the intelligence to play well in this game. He has to be wary of City’s midfield runners, who will come from a variety of different positions. CB – John Terry It’s a risk to play Terry in two games so close to each other, but Chelsea need his leadership skills. He’ll try and back off, to give himself every chance of dealing with City’s quicker players. article continues below LB – Cesar Azpilicueta Azpilicueta has arguably been Chelsea’s most consistent defender this season. He’ll have to keep an eye on the players advancing down City’s right while getting forward to provide width when he can. RM – Willian Willian will play wide, he’ll cut inside and he’ll also move up front. He needs to stay disciplined when the Blues are under pressure, not leaving Ivanovic exposed, DM – Nemanja Matic This is a good game for Matic to throw down a claim that he should be starting consistently in the holding role. He’ll be fresh having not started against West Ham and will look to break up the play. CM – Frank Lampard This is a good game to have Lampard coming into the midfield. He’ll inject that experience into the side and he’s lost none of his ability to pop up in good goalscoring positions. AM – Oscar The Brazilian needs to get on the ball whenever he can. It’s important he’s not wasteful because Chelsea need him to create half chances and pick locks in the Manchester City defence. LM – Eden Hazard Hazard needs to replicate the world class form he’s been showing for the Blues in recent weeks. The Belgian will always look to move in centrally, which makes him an extra threat to Manchester City’s goal.
