Chevron has spent over $3,000,000 (THREE MILLION!) in my local county election, trying to sway our local election to vote for a mayor and council members who will favor their corporate interests. Flooding our mailboxes with lies, littering the highway with misleading billboards, creating fake interest groups, newspapers, and repulsive TV ads, we can barely keep our heads above water (or should I say oil?). Hopefully truth and goodness will rise to the top tomorrow.. . so that individual votes may outweigh corporate dollars.
