Chez Nous, Westville Junction, 31 Westville Road, Westville. Had lunch at Chez Nous today after a business meeting. First time there, so I wasnt too sure what to expect. (Of course, I opened my laptop briefly and searched the DRGBN group for feedback and menu ideas...) Ordered the Abigails sauce on penne. My companions ordered two of the gourmet sandwiches. Service was prompt, attentive and friendly. We were very low maintenance, so the limits of the service were not tested. :) When the meals arrived, I experienced immediate buyers remorse: those gourmet sandwiches looked heavenly! However, once I tucked into my pasta, I was satisfied. The penne pasta was cooked al dente and could not have been better, in my opinion. The sauce had generous chunks of tender chicken and bacon pieces in a tomato pesto sauce. The sprinkling of feta could have been a bit more, but I fixed that with the supplied parmigiano. Although the sauce also had a spicy edge, I was in the mood for more, so I drizzled some of the oil from the chopped chillies supplied as a condiment. Although I had fiddled with the flavours quite a bit by now, the dish was absolutely to my satisfaction. They were playing some blast from the past background muzak (maybe someone rediscovered their Hooked On Classics LPs :) ), and it could have been turned down a bit, but its a minor niggle. Despite the portion size looking average, I discovered that this was actually a *lot* of food to get through. As I was entering the final third of my meal, my companions had finished their sandwiches - and those were big too. As we started quite late, Ive ended up skipping supper as a result. I still feel satiated 3 hours later. Good meals, and well priced. I wasnt expecting to write a review about the meal, but how could I not share the experience?
