Chhattisgarh: Ashok Parekh, Retd member, State Finance Commission, said these trend of competitive freebies is disastrous for the economy. He said the state government already has a debt of Rs 3000 crore and is paying Rs 270 crores interest on it every year. Where will all this additional money come from, he questioned adding that if deficit financing continues development would be the real casualty.
