Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar last week stated in the Goa - TopicsExpress

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar last week stated in the Goa Legislative Assembly that he was ready to an open debate with any one and anywhere on the allegations of corruption against his government. Would dare the Chief Minister to this face-off on the acts of rampant corruption and nepotism by his government. Let Manohar Parrikar have the privilege of choosing the date and venue. Will publicly confront Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar with facts and figures backed by documentary evidence that the Chief Minister along with many of his Ministers and MLAs have their hands deeply soiled in various acts of blatant corruption and nepotism they have committed over the last two and half years. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar himself has a lot to answer including the huge land purchased by his son Abhijat at Neturlim in Sanguem. The Chief Minister has been hoodwinking the people of Goa with his so called mantra of Zero tolerance to Corruption. He has been finding fault with all and sundry including NGOs, activists, the media and now even the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG). It is time the Chief Minister takes responsibility and puts his own house in order. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has been trying to keep the lid on the misdeeds of his government by intentionally not appointing a Lokayukta and also sabotaging the functioning of the State Information Commission. Constructive criticism and an ongoing vigilant audit is vital to the proper functioning of any government. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has been high-handedly trying to crush all voices of opposition and dissent. This does not augur well for the very basics tenets of our democracy.
