Chief Storekeeper The client is situated in the Northern Cape 80 km’s North West of Kuruman [email protected] Duties: • Ensuring the availability of stock items for the purpose of production needs • Managing and maintaining assets pertaining to the Stores section • Maintaining optimum stock holding, thereby ensuring cost effectiveness • Controlling and maintaining the re-order system to ensure effective store operation • Effectively building and maintaining internal and external customer relationships • Ensuring correct storage and handling requirements for spares and equipment • Managing the performance of the work team to achieve the Store sections’ business objectives, including effective communication of Management information and team needs • Being on standby • Developing a competent work team by ensuring appropriate recruitment and the development, implementation and monitoring of the necessary training and development initiatives • Ensuring adherence to SHEQ and legal standards and procedures within the relevant section and assisting Management in the improvement thereof • Ensuring access control processes and procedures are in place in order to prevent any financial loss • Performing ad hoc or any other reasonable duties as and when requested from time to time Minimum Requirements: • A 3 year diploma or university certificate or degree in Warehousing/Stores/Purchasing or a related field, or an equivalent Financial Degree • A valid Code B/EB drivers • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the warehousing/stores environment of which 3 year must have been in a supervisory capacity • Knowledge of the following disciplines: Quality orientation: and computer literacy (high level) • Demonstrated knowledge of the following systems: JD Edwards: MS Excel (report writing); and MS Word • Customer-orientated/focused • Supervisory and leadership skills • Communication skills • Planning and organising skills • Commercial Awareness
