Chief of Police, Morgan State University By Morgan State University Oct 28, 2013 - 9:51:51 AM Duties: Enforces University policies and pertaining to public safety; plans and directs campus security activities, including special events and dignitary protection; works closely with the university administration to ensure compliance with or enforcement of Federal, State, local laws, as well as University policies, rules and regulations including the Jeanne Clery Act; develops, recommends, and administers security, parking enforcement, traffic flow policies, and procedures to insure the safety of students, staff, faculty, visitors, and property of the University; oversees follow-up investigations of all incidents/daily reports and recommends corrective action to resolve and prevent recurrence; collects and reports crime statistics; maintains leadership and guidance of subordinate staff members and facilitates disciplinary procedures; serves as a Liaison to first responder agencies; Working knowledge of personal computers and the applicable software; maintains records and disseminates them where appropriate within the university according to federal, and state guidelines; performs other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors Degree from an Accredited College or University; Ten (10) years experience as a sworn officer with progressively responsible policing experience including five years of supervisory command in law enforcement.
