Chikos journey. A few days before we met Marley, on our home after visiting our mum at Batu Pahat, Johor and Ipin another crazy cat man(will share his sad story next time), we stop over at my wifes sis food stall at Parit Raja Bath Pahat for dinner. Somehow Ive have the habit of looking for cats to feed. Until I saw this guy walking slowly and aimlessly whereas all the other cats were already surrounding me for food. My niece named him Chiko. Only when he came closer then I knew he could hear, smell but he cant see me. As it was dark, I had use the light from my phone to see his injuries. Without any doubt, we had to save him. Off to the car, got the carrier and gloves. Then I could pet him and his almost bald head which was dry and hard. His almost closed eyes was tearing with blood. Oh god... How long did this boy was suffering? He sat quietly in his carrier for an hour plus journey as if he knows that hes going home. As usual, next morning we brought him to Dr Naz. Shaking her head to disbelief the condition he was in. Diagnosis are Mange, eyes infection, fleas, mites, fever, dehydration, malnourished and of course much needed human love. He wasnt blind but due to severe mange his skin around the eyes hardened so couldnt open them. He was given a jab, needed medicated bath regularly, some medications and assurance that hell recover. Today Chiko has turned into the sweetest cat Ive known. Always first at the door to welcome us home. Demand to be carried plus hugs and kisses. He has put on a bit of weight and grown back his glorious mane. He also become a big brother to Pixie. Thank you Chiko for finding us. Hope you all enjoy his story.
