Child abuse Child abuse, be it physical or psychological, has very severe implications on brain development. Detrimental changes in the pattern of synaptogenesis and plasticity occur as a result of the stress from abuse, and these changes have life-long consequences. Child abuse is a menace that threatens the mental capabilities of our next generations (Teicher, 2002; Blows, 2003:142). Its simple, STOP CHILD ABUSE AND YOU MINIMIZE MENTAL ILLNESS IN THE COMMUNITY. A child will shut down (mentally & sensorially (which is not a real word but I made it up to fit the picture) if he/she is subjected to arguments, shouting, abuse, lack of touch, lack of language stimulation, lack of warmth and love. Take care a child is very sensitive and very rare.
