Children: Blessing or Curse? Children can be a product of Procreation or Recreation. Procreation is conceiving for propagation of genealogy. Often planned or expected in a mutual loving relationship. It is a joyful time as there is so much anticipation and affection filling the air. The child is embraced with the warmth of the household. Recreation is conceiving as a consequence from entertainment. The child is not planned; there is no long term commitment by the partners and their families. The child is not necessarily loved. There is no assurance of financial or social security. The child born is innocent. The child did not have a choice to say Yes or No in being conceived. However, they are now placed into two extreme circumstances of love and caring home or denial and rejection home. These are two completely different situations. Given such extreme circumstances and others that fall between, do you agree or disagree to the statement that “Are the children a blessing or a curse?” (In addressing this statement; please think broadly on issues affecting all three parties). - For thought stimulation -
