Children in a North Yorkshire village have had their free bus passes to school withdrawn after the county council ruled a narrow country road is safe to walk along. The council says improvements to pavements in the village of Carlton-in-Craven near Skipton mean the route is now safe but parents strongly disagree. They say the pavements are too narrow and there are many dangerous crossings. More with Clare at 0725.
