Chilling. Unnerving. Lets say you manged to shoot a video of a dirty cop mulcting money from a poor jeepney driver. Under this bill, the cop can sue you for taking a video without his permission. And since the video (evidence) you took was a product of an illegal act, your video may not be admitted as evidence. Under the pretext of protecting personal privacy, the bill seeks to jail people who take pictures of other people, even in public spaces, without their consent. The authors of the bill inserted the clause: ...with intent to gain or profit therefrom to make it appear that the proposed law is after people who make money from random pics. However, I believe this is just a smoke screen to hide the real intention of the bill. The no. 1 enemy of evil doers (corrupt govt and private individuals) is public exposure. Now that everyone has the power to publish (using a cellphone, laptop or tablet) and share info, those looking to rob us blind & trample our rights want to stop the light from shining on their nefarious activities. Secrecy is the friend of evil. Corrupt guys -1, Transparency - 0
