China strongly desires to see a stable and a prosperous Pakistan Islamabad; November 28, 2013: Madam Shen Yueyue, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National Peoples Congress has said that China strongly desires to see a stable and a prosperous Pakistan. She said that regardless of the changing domestic and international situations, the friendship between both the nations have gained strength due to the commitment of political leadership of both the countries. She was talking to Speaker National Assembly during a call on in Parliament House, this afternoon. Madam Shen Yueyue said that China greatly values its sixty-two years old friendship with Pakistan which has passed the test of time. She said that hearts of people of both the countries beat together and Chinese people are truly proud to have such devoted friends. She said that political leadership on both sides has strong commitment to strengthen the existing relations. She suggested for enhancing contacts between women Parliamentarians and youth of both the countries for sharing views and experiences. Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that Pakistan attaches immense importance to its relations with China and desires to further solidify and deepen its deep-rooted, all-weather strategic partnership of cooperation for mutual benefit of both the nations. The Speaker said that Pakistan appreciates the strong support and selfless assistance from the Chinese government and people for its economic and social development, however, stressed for further strengthening them through parliamentary contacts. He said that parliamentarians from both the countries could play a vital role in realization of the goals of friendship. He proposed a joint parliamentary committee of National Assembly and National Peoples Congress to facilitate the process of ongoing parliamentary and economic collaboration between two countries. He said that Pakistan-China Economic corridor project would create massive economic activity in the region resulting in progress and prosperity for the people of both the countries. He said that pragmatic cooperation between both the countries could bring more tangible benefits to the Pakistan and Chinese people. Madam Shen Yueyue agreed with the Speaker and said that her Government and National Peoples congress strongly advocates promotion of parliamentary role in friendship between both the brotherly countries. She said that sole purpose of her visit was to implement the agreement between both the parliaments for enhancing bilateral parliamentary contacts. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq earlier appraised the Chinese dignitary about the formation of Pak-China Friendship Group in the National Assembly of Pakistan which is largest amongst the group with other countries. He said that frequent interaction between Friendship groups of both the legislatures would help boosting the contacts between parliamentarians of both the countries and would advance better understanding and pragmatic cooperation to meet challenges in pursuit of common development. Mr. Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Deputy Speaker National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Shah, Leader of Opposition, Rana Tanvir Hussain, Minister for Defence production, Rana Mohammad Afzal Khan MNA/Convener Pak-China Friendship Group and Members of the Chinese delegation were also present during the call on.
