Chinjak Festival from October 25 MU NEWS/IMPHAL, Sept 25: Fourth edition of food festival of the region popularly known as Chinjak Festival (4) – Regional is going to be organised from October 25 to November 3 at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Palace Compound, Imphal. Khuraijam Athouba, Managing Director, Board of Chinjak Festival, 2013 made an announcement during a press meet held at the office of Innovative Youth Society at Kwakeithel in Imphal today. He said that fourth edition of the Chinjak Festival will be participated by various ethnic communities of the North-Eastern Region of India namely Sema Tribes of Nagaland, Ao Nagas of Nagaland, Karbi communities of Assam, Bodo communities of Assam, other Assamese communities and Khasi of Meghalaya and will give an opportunity to test different cuisines of these communities of the region. Besides this, 35 unique local stalls of Manipur shall also be opened to public showcasing traditional and indigenous foods of different ethnic communities of Manipur. The menu of the fourth Chinjak Festival which consists of Oaksha, Sansha, Kongreng, Waikhu, Watin, Hentaak, Ngaprum, Pukyu, Waiyu, Soibum, Soigang, Paaknam, Singju, Bora, Koujeng, Peruk, Utongchak, Nganam, Khajing, Paphu Singju, Chengpak Singju, Oaksha Chagempomba, Ngaprum Singju, Chak-hao Matum, Cheng-Mangan Bora, Chanshubi Paaknam, Heikru Mahi, Heitroi Mahi, Laphoi Mahi, Cheng Mahi, Khari Ooti Ashangba, Phola, Tharoi, Sandang Ayaiba, Sandangsha Athongba, Ngapang Ayaiba and many more will attract the visitors. Visitors will also get the opportunity to shop handloom and handicraft items at offer prices as exclusive stalls for handloom and handicrafts are also setting up in the 4thChinjak Festival. BOSS Juices, associate partner of the festival will offer 2 tonnes of fresh apples with special offer.
