Cookie recipe 5 cups flour 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 31/2 sticks margarine 1 Tablespoon vanilla sugar Knead all ingredients into manageable dough.( best to refrigerate dough for a few hours it’s easier to work with it ) Roll out dough ¼ inch thick. Cut out dough with Chanukah cookie cutters . Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake on cookie sheet with parchment paper for 15-20. Let cookies cool completely before decorating. Royal icing 1 lb. confectionary sugar 3 tbs. meringue powder 5 tbs. water Mix everything in mixer on med. Speed for 7 min. Royal icing dries very quickly therefore cover it immediately when not in use. Decorating cookies with royal icing Outline cookies using royal icing with tip #3. Thin icing to a flow. Using a disposable bag snipped on bottom and fill in the center. Let dry over night( if humid longer) and add dots and other designs with tip #3.
