Chorley in The Great War group meeting this Sunday is an illustrated talk On the battlefields with the BBC by Chorley Remembers Project Manager, Steve Williams. It is at Euxton Community Centre, nr. Chorley PR7 6JL, starting at 2.00 pm. Members free, non-members £2.50; all welcome. The talk features Steves trip on the 1st July 2006 to the Chorley Pals trenches on the Somme and his recent trip to Ypres for BBC North West Tonight and BBC Radio Lancashire. Behind the scenes photographs and video clips, plus an exclusive interview with well known presenter Graham Liver as he visited relatives graves on the Ypres battlefield. Photographs shows Sister Francis (daughter of Chorley Pal, Henry Calderbank) laying a wreath in 2006 and Graham Liver in action at the Yorkshire Trench near Ypres earlier this week.
