Chosenpeople Chosenpeople wrote: MEMORY LANE Remember the days of NPN and UPN? I remember Christopher Udom Essiet.,he contested to become a State House member in the then Cross River state. Fortunately,he succeded and was elected the speaker of the house and in the days of Dr. Clement Isong as Governor. During his ambition to become a House member, he had a very good friend and brother who stood by him till he won the election. Mr. Donald Etiebet was a brother and a friend beside him. But when it was time for Donald Etiebet to vie for the governorship seat, Udom Essiet betrayed Etiebet. He saw another political friend in U.J.Esuene. So,he abandoned Etiebet for Esuene. But God that frowns against betrayal stood by Etiebet and he win the Election. Sympathisers of Etiebet during the betrayal and frustrating time of Etiebet came up with a sympathy song. I dont know how many were birn as at then and how many would remember such a song. Hear me,KINI UDOM ESSIET OKOYOMDE UKARA, ETIEBET EKEDI EYEN EKA UDON ESSIET. KINI ETIEBET OKOYOMDE NDIKARA, UDOM ESSIET OSONG ESIT EFEHE ONYONG EKET. OFONDE FI DO EYEN EKA MI,DO OMOKPONG ABAK EFEHE ONYONG AKA EKE(2x). So,in the current political dispensation we remember how Bishop Samuel Akpan stood by Governor Godswill Akpabio in his first and second terms. So, i re-improvise the song as as thus, KINI AKPABIO OKOYOMDE UKARA BISHOP EKEDE UFAN AKPABIO. KINI BISHOP OYOMDE NDIKARA,AKPABIO OSONG ESIT EFEHE OKPONG EBINE UDOM. OFONDE FI DO EYEN EKA MI,OMOKPONG BISHOP EFEHE EBINE UDOM (2X) History again is about to repeat itself as God that frowns against betrayal, oppression and cheat is up to fight the course.
