Chris Brand from Northern Regions and ARRO have had a brief meeting with regards to the future of regional rallying in our region.The idea is to run 2 different championships on the same day without any interference between each other.ie:should it be a 6 stage rally 1 group will start their rally on the first 3 stages and the other group on the other 3 stages and later the day swop over whereby both groups would have had fresh and re-run roads.The benefit to trying to implement this initiative will be that it will save alot a money and secure events.1 set of timing equipment,1 group of marshals,1 ambulance service and 1 set of notes with the hope of having 40 rally cars together again as in the past.Should all go well we might just have an inter-governing body challenge between the 2 groups.Financial constraints is part of the demise of regional rallying and maybe with this iniatiative we might just revive the sport we all so love together without any polotics involved.Alot is been said on social media at the moment which I personally feel is not taking the sport forward at all with all the mud slinging going on.I ask all of you to please voice your opinions and ask anything should something be unclear.
