Chris Knox, here is my owl story! Monday night, the night of the super moon, I had just dumped my last load of grain in the bin and was returning to the dry farm on the ten mile pass road. An owl flying by, hit my outside mirror, grabbed my gloved hand that was resting on the door, window down, of course. He toppled into the truck, and landed on the floor between the drivers door and me. I am traveling about 50 miles per hour ....dont want to step on the brake or clutch, because he is flapping underneath my legs. I did not want to injure his wings....he was a little dazed to say the least, He finally moved over to the center of the truck, head on a swivel looking at me....I opened the door just enough to turn on the interior light and he became quiet. So I am driving, one hand on the wheel and the other holding the door open and trying to get to the field...soon he found his way to the passenger side of the cab, I stopped in the field, ran around and opened the passenger side door and he flew away into the night. And my phone was in my pocket but I did not have an extra hand to take a photo!!! Shoot!!! There you go, my encounter with a beautiful white barn owl!
