Chris Mendez, Victor Drew Jimenez, John Serna The Indiana Pacers improved to 5-1 since Post All-Star Weekend, after beating the Boston Celtics last night. Many probably thought Indiana would have an easy time with Boston, but the Celtics would them a great battle till the very end, making it tough for the League-Leading Pacers. Luckily for the Pacers, they had Superstar SF Paul George, and newly acquired SF Evan Turner, step up in the very end and make clutch plays in the 4th quarter. SF Paul George was great in the 4th quarter, scoring 8 of his 25 points, hitting a couple of critical shots and helping the Pacers make a comeback after trailing early in the final period. The Pacers are 3-0 since acquiring SF Even Turner, and so far he has not disappoint at all. Turner has scored in double-figures twice in the three games he has played for the Pacers. Turner is giving the Pacers a solid wing player off the bench, a great scoring spark. Turner is more than a scorer, he can rebound, good passer, and knock down clutch shots when his team truly needs him to. Turner can do the little things that sometimes doesnt notice, but truly matters the most till the very end. Turner has playoff experience and he is not afraid of the big moment, he can help make a key play in crunch time, especially for a team like Indiana. Last night against the Celtics, Turner proved that his leadership and experience will be a huge piece for the Pacers to have during playoff time. George and Turner combined to score 18 points in the 4th quarter, as the Pacers comeback to beat the Celtics, getting the 102-97 victory and Indiana improves to 45-13, while Boston fell to 20-40. Pacers Superstar SF Paul George set the offensive tone in the 1st quarter, scoring 13 of his 15 first half points, as the Pacers had the early on Boston. First, George makes the pass to C Roy Hibbert for the jumper, then PG24 attacks the basket, scoring the running bank shot. PF David West with the pass to George for the layup, then PG24 gets a pass from PG CJ Watson for the wide-open 3-pointer. Backup PG Donald Sloan dishes the pass to George for the 3-point field goal, then PG24 scores the two-point bucket, gets foul and has a chance for the 3-point play, as the Pacers take a 28-27 lead into the 2nd quarter. George has a quiet quarter in the 2nd period, scoring only one bucket, but Turner has a better 2nd quarter for Indiana, scoring 7 points, as the Pacers still have the lead at halftime. First, Turner finds backup C Ian Mahinmi for the floating bucket, then ET buries the turnaround fadeaway jumper in the paint. Turner makes 1-of-2 free-throws, then ET gets into the paint again, knocking down another turnaround fadeaway jumper. SG Lance Stephenson dishes the pass to Turner for the baseline jumper. First, Paul George sets himself up, burying the two-point jumper, as the Pacers have a 55-48 halftime lead. Both George and Turner have bigger impacts in the 2nd half, making timely plays and knocking down big shots, giving the Pacers a great opportunity to win the game. George doesnt score a lot in the 3rd quarter, but continues to do the little things, and Turner makes his impacted know in the 4th quarter. First, George gets a great pass from West for the layup, then PG24 finds Watson for the 3-point field goal. George finds Hibbert in the paint for the hook shot, as the Celtics take a 78-76 heading into the 4th quarter. Both George and Turner take over the game, catching fire by combining to scored 18 of the Pacers 26 4th quarter points, as Turner scores 10 of his 17 points and George scores 8 of the Pacers last 12 points. First, Turner with a great move in the paint, scoring the driving reverse layup, then ET buries the pullup jumper, gets foul and has a chance for the 3-point play, but misses the free-throw.
