Chris Rock is a gifted comedian, but an idiot politically speaking. Chris, did you know that most whites in this country are not descended from slave owners, as only a small percentage of people actually owned slaves even at the peak of slavery in this country? On behalf of most Americans, and even those descended from slave owners, and I believe most will agree with me, slavery was wrong, and we’re glad it was abolished. I don’t own any slaves, my family never owned slaves, and were IN FACT treated worse than slaves as Irish immigrants. So, please explain to me how you think I need to “own” something I have NO connection to other than my skin color being the same as SOME slave owners (yes, there were black slave owners, too). While you’re at it, you can explain why people such as yourself refuse to “own” that their own race sold their ancestors to arab/muslim slave traders who sold them to the west, and that your immediate predecessors did it again by pledging undying loyalty and votes to a group of people who have been able to enslave you with nothing more than empty promises for most of the last 100 years.
