Chris Spangle can WAL explain the consequences facing the homeowner in the following situation? This is a serious question, what options did the homeowner have? Problem: A homeowner calls a utility and asks the clerk answering the phone to please send a utility employee to shut off the service at the outside meter because there is a problem which can not be handled by shutting off the service inside the home. The clerk responds, we have no one to do that we will send a Deputy. Homeowner responds I do not need law enforcement I need utility help. Clerk says, what is the address, hold on I am sending a Deputy and hangs up. This utility also operates a Sheriff department with full law enforcement powers. Homeowner manages to shut off the service and calls the utility back receives the same clerk and tells the clerk that the service has been shut off and not to send the Sheriff.
