Chris Thile is definitely one of the greatest musicians my generation. I dont think he was ever classically trained - which is all the more impressive in how he absolutely nails the Bach Violin Suite (on steel strings and with a pick no less). Its tough to get all the elements of Bach down with the proper voicing, the proper phrasing, the ridiculous technical demands, and most importantly the emotional impact but Thiles got it all.
