Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you is justified by the law (Galatians 5:4). So the law (Gods instructions for moral, social and spiritual behavior) was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith (Galatians 3:24). When we trust in legalism (rule keeping), religion (serving God on our own terms) and hypocrisy (doing things to appear righteous) instead of Christs achievements alone we turn our backs on grace and God cannot show us His goodness.
