Christianity isnt about getting saved, sound doctrine, or voting - TopicsExpress

Christianity isnt about getting saved, sound doctrine, or voting for Christian candidates at the polls. Its not about your perceived orthodoxy or piety. THIS is Christianity: Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world. (James 1:27) I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34-35) Faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead. (James 2:17) Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. (Matthew 7:21) Go and learn what this means, I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have come to call not the righteous but sinners.” (Matthew 9:13) And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love. (1 Cor. 13:13) Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love. (1 John 4:8) Do not judge, so that you may not be judged. (Matthew 7:1) I do not judge anyone who hears my words and does not keep them, for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. (John 12:47) Whoever is not against us is for us. For truly I tell you, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you bear the name of Christ will by no means lose the reward. (Mark 9:40-41) Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place; for all who take the sword will perish by the sword. (Matthew 26:52) Then the king will say to those at his right hand, ‘Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.’ (Matthew 25:34-36)
