Christianity or Islam Which? Fellow reader, have you ever sat down and thought deeply about the confusion pertaining to religious matters? So many religious bodies with different doctrines and beliefs, all claiming their source of origin from the Bible; mainly because the Bible is generally accepted as the greatest of all books and so its tenets are not to be tampered with, for it reveals nothing else than the Truth to the world. Since we all use the Bible, it will be appropriate to allow the Bible to speak for itself in connection with the true religion in the world. Have you ever noticed that the devils motto is: There are so many ways to heaven, and that whatever religion you join, it will finally take you to heaven, provided you are loyal to that religion? The Bible tells us not to believe every spirit, but try them whether they are of God. Why? Because, many False Prophets are gone out into the world. (1 John 4.1.) It also cautions us not to accept any doctrine or teaching without proving it, for it says, “Prove all things and hold fast that which is good.” (1 Thessalonians 5.21.) Thus, as the majority says there are so many ways to heaven, it is our responsibility to know what the Bible says concerning this. In Matthew 7.13, Jesus said, “Enter ye at the straight gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction and many there be which go thereat.” From this we learn that the majority is on the wrong side and is on the side of the devil. So, the genuineness of a thing cannot be determined by the number of people on its side, or what the majority says; for if it is so, then is the devil the right object of worship? Because the majority is on his side? The answer is capital NO. For in verse 14 of the same chapter 7, Jesus said the minority is on the right path, for where was the majority when God destroyed the first world when the Flood came? What about Sodom and Gomorrahs destruction? Where was the majority? From this it is clear that the majority is not the correct standard of proving the truthfulness of a thing. For this cause, Moses said in Exodus 23.2, “Follow not the multitude to do evil.” For the Bible speaks of only one way to heaven. ARE THERE MANY WAYS OR ONE WAY? Under the rulership of Moses, God revealed only one way of worshipping and since the time that it was given to the Israelites, all true worshippers worship God through that channel and all outside that were regarded as infidels. So also today, God has given us One way of worshipping through Christ. The prophet Isaiah, in speaking of Gods scheme of redemption in Christ prophesied of One way. He said, “And a highway shall be there and it shall be called The way of holiness.” (Isaiah 35.8.) The greatest teacher that has ever condescended to instruct man on this subject said, “I am the way.” (John 14.6.) The Pharisee, recognizing this fact, said, “Master we know thou art true and teachest the way of God in truth.” (Matthew 22.16.) Even wicked spirits gave testimony to the same fact. For through a damsel one said, “These men are the servants of the most high which show us the way of salvation.” (Acts 16.17.) Peter says the way of Truth shall be evil spoken of. (2 Peter 2.2.) In verse 15, he says that certain persons had forsaken the right way. Thus, we find Jesus, evil spirits, an opposing Pharisee all speaking of the way to heaven, but none of them speak of ways from earth to heaven. Hence, we conclude that there is only one way and that way is Christ and His way is the truth, and only in His way there is life; all other ways are death. In 1 Corinthians 14.33, we are told by the Bible that God is not the author of confusion but of peace. Jesus said after the resurrection there will be no marriage. (Mark 12.25.) Muhammed says after the resurrection, there will he marriage. (SURA 4.58.) “And those who believe and do good words, we shall make them enter gardens through which streams flow to abide therein forever—wherein they shall have pure spouses.” All these sayings cannot be right at the same time; one is true and one is false. As the Christians and the Muslims use the same Bible, we should allow the Bible to tell us whom to follow: whether Christ or Muhammed— Christianity or Islam. In Genesis 12.1-3, God called Abraham and made a promise to him that He would bless Abraham and make his name great and a great nation; and in him shall all the family of earth be blessed. Abraham went to God and said, “Lord what will thou give me, seeing I go childless and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus and to one born in my house is mine heir?” But God told him, This shall not be thine heir, but he shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir. The question is, heir for what? An HEIR is defined as: a person with legal rights to receive a title, property, etc., when the owner dies. So Abraham brought Eliezer as his successor so that God should give him his blessings, but God said no. (Genesis 15.1-4.) Still, for years, Abraham was without a child, and Sarah granted Abraham the permission to bring forth children with Hagar the Egyptian maid; and they brought forth Ishmael. (Genesis 16.1-13.) Later, God promised Abraham a child with his wife Sarah, but Abraham said unto God, “Oh that Ishmael might live before thee.” Here, Abraham wanted Ishmael to be the heir and God told him this: Sarah thy wife shall hear thee a son indeed, and thou shall call his name Isaac. Notice: And I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant and with his seed after him. (Genesis 17.17-19.) So in connection with the one through whose descendants a Savior was to come and bless the whole world, Isaac was chosen and Ishmael was rejected. Though the covenant was not made with Ishmael, God promised to bless him materially. (Genesis 17.20.) It is therefore not proper for us to expect the Savior or a Prophet from the descendants of Ishmael, since he had been rejected on that account. In Genesis 21.1-5, we are told of Isaacs birth and in verses 9-14, Ishmael was driven away from Abrahams house. In verse 12, Abraham was told by God, For in Isaac shall thy seed be called. Abraham drove all his children away from Isaac (Genesis 25.6), and Isaac became the heir and everything was given to him. God blessed Isaac with the blessing his father Abraham was promised in Genesis 26.2-5. Isaac took a wife, Rebekah, and brought forth two children, Jacob and Esau, and Esau sold his birth-right to Jacob. Jacob then supplanted Esau in the blessing and Isaac blessed Jacob with the blessing of Abraham. In Genesis 27.35; 28.1-4, Jacob too was chosen while Esau was rejected in connection with the blessings of Abraham. In Genesis 35.10, Jacobs name was changed to Israel and God blessed him with the blessing of Abraham. Jacob brought forth 12 children (Genesis 35.22) that later became known as the children of Israel. Jacob, in blessing his children, exalted Judah above all and that the lawgiver shall not depart from between his feet. (Genesis 49.9-10.) Jesus Christ, being the lawgiver of the New Testament, came from the tribe of Judah. (Hebrews 7.14.) This Christ is the one whom God promised would come from Abrahams seed to bless the whole world: Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not to seeds as of many, but as of one and to thy seed which is Christ. (Galatians 3.16.) Christ is the promised Saviour and the only lawgiver, not Muhammed. Peter and John, in preaching to the Jews in Acts 3.25-26, said, Ye are the children of the prophets of the covenant which God made with Abraham and in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you in turning away every one of you from his iniquities. The question is: Who was sent--Christ or Muhammed? Christ--YES! For Moses, in speaking to the Israelites, said the prophet will come from within their midst (Deuteronomy 18.15-19), and this the Muslims quote to support Muhammed. But Peter and John, being Jews and followers of Christ, quoted this to support Christ in their preaching and not Muhammed. Finally, in connection with a promised prophet, we need not to accept anybody who comes from the descendants of Ishmael and Esau; for they have already been rejected with the account of the Saviour coming from their descendants. Muhammed, the prophet of the Muslims, came from Arabia, from Ishmaels descendants. God said the seed will be called from Isaacs descendants and not Ishmaels descendants, the Arabs. (Genesis 21.12.) This the Koran strongly affirms in SURA 12.7: And thus shall it be as thou hast seen thy Lord will choose thee and teach thee the interpretation of things and perfected his favour upon thee and upon the family of Jacob as he perfected it upon two of thy forefathers--Abraham and Isaac. This is what the Koran says of Jacob to his son Joseph: that he, Joseph, and his fathers family will be perfected like Abraham and Isaac. The Koran says again in SURA 29.28, And we bestowed on him Isaac and Jacob and we placed the gift of prophethood--and the book among his descendants. The question is: which of Abrahams descendants? Ishmael or Isaac and Jacob? The Koran says Isaac and Jacob. SURA 19.50: We bestowed on him Isaac and Jacob and each of them we made a prophet. So from Isaac to Jacob and his descendants. SURA 45.17: And verily we gave the children of Israel the book and sovereignty and the prophethood. Thus we see clearly that the prophethood was placed among Jacobs descendant and almost all the prophets of the Bible came from Jacobs descendants. In SURA 38.46-47, we find: And remember our servants Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, men of strong hands and powerful vision. We chose them for a special purpose. The Bible also named them in that same manner in Mark 12.26, God of Abraham and God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. Luke, in his narrative, traced the descendants of Jesus down to Jacob, Isaac and Abraham. (Luke 1.34.) For the Bible says Jesus and NOT Muhammed is the author of eternal salvation. Salvation and all spiritual blessings are in Christ Jesus (2 Timothy 2.10; Ephesians 1.3.) Follow only the teachings Christ and heaven will be yours. 2 John 9 says, He that transgresseth and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ have not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ have both the Father and the Son.
