Christians: In our attempt to cater to the world, have we too - TopicsExpress

Christians: In our attempt to cater to the world, have we too easily jettisoned the church? Are we too eager to set ourselves apart from the conservative, narrow-minded, hymn-singing, Bible-believing, suit-&-tie-wearing Christians? Are we so eager to say things like, I hate religion, but I love Jesus, as if that sentence actually made sense? Why do we treat the redeemed elders as if they are a cultural cancer? Why are we so eager to dislike theology? Are we so worried that non-Christians will think us dweebs that we will attack our brothers & sisters in Christ before we ever dare say anything that might offend those who dislike Christianity? ... Or, conversely, if we are conservatives, why are we so reluctant to accept the hipster, environmentally-conscious, culturally-aware, affluence-repulsed, mission-minded younger generations? Are they not redeemed? Is the church destined to tear itself apart because we either arent traditional enough or not cool enough?
