Christians and Halloween This coming Thursday the World will take part in a man made festival called Halloween. That’s OK if you are of this world. But as a Christian you are to be set apart. We are not to take part in pagan traditions. Deu 12:30 Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. Deu 12:31 Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods. Deu 12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. God clearly tell us not to follow the ways of the world. It is surprising how many people who claim to be follows of Christ will take part in a demonic ritual. It’s even more amazing that you will see many churches this Thursday taking part in this same demonic ritual. It gets worse. Both the Christians and the Churches that take part in this will claim that it is alright because they are doing it in the name of God. God never put his name on it. Man did. 1Co 10:20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. 1Co 10:21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lords table, and of the table of devils. 1Co 10:22 Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he? As a new believer (babe) in Christ not knowing these things I can understand. But many of us are not babe in Christ. Many of us (especially Pastor) should know the Word of God. Halloween is a night of witches, warlocks, ghost, demons and a night of when the spirit world of the dead can come into this world. We are told by God to have no part in these things. The Church today is a hearer of the WORD but we surly are not doer of the Word. In my early Christian walk (when I was a babe) I to took part in many of these abominations. I try to make the Word of God to fix my lifestyle. Instead the Word is to make you (me) to fit its lifestyle. I learned that I am not to change the Word but the Word is to change me. When will the people of God start reading their Bible? When will the people of God start following His Word as it is written? I can really understand this verse that Christ says in Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. As Christians we should be teaching our children the Word of God and not the things of this world. Teach them the sweetness of the Word of God. Teach them to be set apart from this world and not to blend into it. Teach them that being a friend of this world makes you a enemy of God. We all want to go Heaven. But not all of us will get there because we are in love with the world more than the Word of God.
