Christine Perez DeGerolami and I went to MD Anderson on Wednesday for my final tests as planned. Nothing else was. They determined that a large hematoma was actually another tumor, that my cancer was spreading like wildfire, and that my body couldnt wait till next week to begin treatment in the trial of the new drug. So, we stayed late, returned early, got clearance from some doctors in Europe, changed my painkillers and officially became Patient #6 (out of 500). On Thursday evening I was given my first dose of the chemo and, yes!, it was the experimental drug that we had hoped and prayed for. Im feeling good. Some minor side effects. But, I believe that weve got this now...! Peace and Love to all of you wonderful people.
